Captain Timika B. Lindsay reported to the United States Naval Academy in August 2017 as its Chief Diversity Officer and retired from the Navy on 1 July 2021 after 30 years of exceptional military service. In her last four years of military service, she served as the senior advisor to the Naval Academy Superintendent on all matters regarding Inclusion and Diversity, Equal Opportunity, and Equal Employment Opportunity. 

She has been a trusted team member at the highest levels in the Department of Defense to build, lead and manage a joint team to advise on policy and procedural issues associated with Culture of Excellence, Diversity and Inclusion, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Military Equal Opportunity/Sexual Harassment. She implemented and led two task force teams to identify inequities by gender and race/ethnicity resulting in the formulation of the Navy’s D&I Roadmap and the Naval Academy’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan, designed to improve the Navy’s diversity and retention initiatives. She also provided Title IX oversight for 33 Division I sports teams and directly supported leadership, organization, financial administration, recruiting, and operations of two Division I sports (Football and Men’s Basketball) serving as the institution’s team officer representative. Prior to her arrival in Annapolis, MD, CAPT Lindsay served as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Communications and Information Systems (N6), U.S. SEVENTH Fleet (C7F), where she was responsible for providing communications to all transiting Navy ships transiting the Western Pacific, and strengthening relationships with over 30 countries in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.

A native of Paulsboro, NJ, CAPT Lindsay graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1992. After a three-year recruiting tour, she was transferred to Monterey, CA, where she earned a Master of Science degree in Information Technology Management. CAPT Lindsay returned to her alma mater as Protocol Officer and later Senior Admissions Counselor/Senior Minority Admissions Counselor, significantly contributing to the Naval Academy’s most diverse class on record at that time. In ___ she earned a Master of Strategic Studies from Marine Corps University, Command, and Staff College. Other certifications include: Diversity & Inclusion, Certificate of Mastery from Georgetown University, Global Coach, Psychological Safety from Leader Factor, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certification from the University of South Florida.

CAPT Lindsay’s awards include the Legion of Merit (2), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2), Iraq Campaign Medal and the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal. She recently received the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for 2020 for her outstanding service to community and country.

CAPT Lindsay is the proud mother of Eric Jr. (USNA ‘25) and Elise (USNA ’23).
